5 1/2 years all packed up. It looks so small now! Buster slept in his normal spot even without the bed above him. But no tears!

The spring of Buster's discontent ended abruptly

Turns out all he really needed was a buddy. That could've saved me a lot of money over the past 5 years....My landlord got her pup this winter and started leaving the doors open for them to hang out. Lo and behold, no destruction. Maybe a cat for his new home??

Springtime in DC

Congressional Cemetery
Moving out of DC (more on that later) in springtime was a terrible decision. DC springs are more magical than other springs. Everything blooms at once. And it's all of a sudden, and just a little bit earlier than springs in other places, so that you're right at that point where the winter sads are about to defeat you and then you see that bloom! Other places you see a few daffodils and azaleas; here it seems to be dozens on every lawn.

Double magically, you have all these historic, awe-inspiring places you can just stumble upon on your way to the market. For example: Congressional Cemetery, right in the middle of a DC neighborhood. Acres of grave sites that predate the Civil War surrounded by blooms.
