5 1/2 years all packed up. It looks so small now! Buster slept in his normal spot even without the bed above him. But no tears!

The spring of Buster's discontent ended abruptly

Turns out all he really needed was a buddy. That could've saved me a lot of money over the past 5 years....My landlord got her pup this winter and started leaving the doors open for them to hang out. Lo and behold, no destruction. Maybe a cat for his new home??

Springtime in DC

Congressional Cemetery
Moving out of DC (more on that later) in springtime was a terrible decision. DC springs are more magical than other springs. Everything blooms at once. And it's all of a sudden, and just a little bit earlier than springs in other places, so that you're right at that point where the winter sads are about to defeat you and then you see that bloom! Other places you see a few daffodils and azaleas; here it seems to be dozens on every lawn.

Double magically, you have all these historic, awe-inspiring places you can just stumble upon on your way to the market. For example: Congressional Cemetery, right in the middle of a DC neighborhood. Acres of grave sites that predate the Civil War surrounded by blooms.

Congressional cenotaphs (Henry Clay and John Calhoun!)

Back in action

Spring Break gave a very short reprieve....

Day 1: 7 rolls of toilet paper, 1 box of tissues.

The Spring of Buster's Discontent

Pretty much every day I come home to some sort of canine destruction. It is a result of severe separation anxiety and severe laziness/absent-mindedness. (And yes I tried to crate him--he chewed out. Yes I tried medicine--no result. Yes I've tried dog walker, more entertainment, more exercise--nothing.) So we're going to document this daily adventure, with some oldie-but-goodies for the lucky days of calm.

How come

as soon as people find out they're pregnant, they purchase a minivan and/or SUV? Transporting a baby is basically the same as transporting a bag of groceries, so why do expectant parents immediately think they need seating for 7?

NB: I'm not pregnant.

Did you know?

Chipotle has child size chips!!!??? But you can only get them in a kid's meal. That's so unfair. Why can't I just add them in a combo without being forced to buy the guilt of a whole bag. I can't wait to have a kid so I can get kid chips.

Crafting has continued in the New Year even though posting has not. (I really need to get on that if I'm going to achieve any of my goals.)  But at least, on the crafting side, it's official! I have business cards, so I must be a business person! Just like when I got nurse business cards in 3rd grade I was totally a nurse. Maybe I should bring them with me when I perform as Night Nurse for Outdoor Ed next year....
Anyhoo, I decided to get these cards since Homeward Trails (the place from whence big Busto himself came) has agreed to partner with me on dog collar sales! Proceeds from sales through HT will benefit the adoption group, and I'll hopefully get a lot of much needed publicity!
